Having one amazing month...

I just found out that I am having a layout published in the January issue of The Artisan Notebook, Digital Scrapbooking Artists Guild. You have to be a member to view it, but I am getting a complimentary issue so I am so excited about that! I Just finished some layouts for kjoi studios. This month I had the chance to work with the very talented designer Dawn Inskip. Her kits are amazing! My only regret is that I've been so busy with Holiday stuff - I wish I could have done more. Here is her kit The Write Stuff I did two layouts with it. The first one "confessions" is a self layout and the second "sweet" is about my relationship with my two incredible sister-in-laws.
I am hosting a Hybrid challenge over at kjoistudios so if you have a minute, stop by and check it out. There are lots of great prizes that you actually get to choose from! How cool is that?!!

Had some time this weekend...

to get caught up on some cards. I love doing digital work, but It's been awhile since I have done anything hands on and I just had to have that paper feel! I guess you can say that I have turned into a Hybrid junkie because of my love for all things paper and digital! The first card (shining star) is a Hybrid card. I made it from JanaM's new kit, you can get it here

Favorite eye candy

My favorite eye candy at the moment hands down would have to be these adorable circle accents by Jenna Desai, you can find them at The-lilypad for just $1.60. What a steal! I know this is one digital purchase that I will use over and over again. Could they be any cuter??

CPS Sketch contest

It has been awhile since I have entered any contests, but I couldn't pass this one up. Cardmaker magazine is having a card design contest using a sketch from CPS (card positoning systems). One grand prize winner will be chosen to have their card published in the July 2008 issue. The themes are Patriotic, travel postcards, summer parties, Christmas in July. I chose the travel postcard theme. Here is what I came up with using their sketch:
I followed the sketch but flipped it Horizontally for a fun twist. I really enjoyed making this card, thanks for the contest CPS and Cardmaker magazine!

Life has been getting in the way...

It's summer, the kids are out of school. We have been busy with camping trips and kids activities. It's becoming harder and harder to find the time to scrapbook let alone blog. Between tumbling, football, activities with the church and the school choir, I find myself becoming the kids Taxi driver. In fact, the only scrapping I have had time for lately is Digital Scrapping and it is becoming my new obsession.
Here is what I've done with fabulous digital products from JanaM

Love the glitter on the first one. So fun to play with!

We spent Father's day with Frank's family in the bay area. Thank goodness for my fast shutter speed on my new camera or I would never have been able to catch this picture on time. Kalee and Matt were tickling each other and being goofy. I have to say that it is my favorite picture right now.

Yosemite Pines

We are back from our camping trip to Yosemite. We had a blast this weekend. We camped with 7 other families, all together there was about 44 of us - and half of that was kids! We camped at Yosemite Pines resort. There was so much to do there - they had a petting zoo, pool, playground, volleyball court, horseshoe pit, gold panning, hiking trails and a gold miners cave! The kids also passed the time with water balloons and they performed a talent show for us on our last night. Matt wowed everyone with his breakdancing skills and won the show. So much fun - it was the perfect vacation and much needed too after our super stressful week of having pumbling and car problems.

Lazar studiowerx

Have you heard about this site? I first found out about it on Pubcalls and then I took a look at their products and had to have them. http://www.lazarstudiowerx.com/paperWERX/paperwerx_paper.html
Their digital products are really cool too! I recently started hybrid scrapping and now find it hard to live without digital products. Check it out http://www.lazarstudiowerx.com/digiwerx.html

Neglect

I must admit I have been neglecting my blog. What is the point of having one - if you never post? Anyways, we have just been so busy that I haven't had time to keep up. We are in the midst of remodeling our downstairs. We took out all the carpet and are installing porcelain tile. Since, we are doing it ourselves it is taking a VERY long time, and I am trying to be patient - but it has been a challenge with all the dust and not having our furniture. It's a disaster right now but I will post pictures when it is all done.

Welcome Home Frank! After 15 months of serving a tour in Afghanistan, our prayers were answered. We finally got our Daddy back. Frank came home just in time to see Kalee's performance in her school play "little red riding hood" She was a bird (that explains the costume!)
