What A Week!

Today is Frank's 38th Birthday. The kids and I surprised him with balloons, presents and Apple pie last night (he doesn't like cake - it's the funniest thing)Tonight we are celebrating by taking the kids to his parents house and going to see Tower of Power in concert. Tower of Power is one of his favorite bands so he is excited about getting to see them on his birthday.

All week long here we have pouring rain, so it has kept us in other than school and the typical errands. Matthew has a cold and his asthma has been acting up, so I've been trying to keep his activity low, which is darn near impossible with a 5 year old. There's good news though...
On Tuesday I received an email from PaperCrafts Magazine that I will have 2 cards published in their upcoming Holdiay Cards & More, Volume 3. This is my first pub for PaperCrafts so I am super excited about it. Here are a couple of projects that I submitted that didn't make it into the mag. I just love the way they came out so I thought I would share them anyway.

Have a Great weekend!

For those wanting to learn digital scrapbooking....

hybrid scrapbooking, hybrid card-making or the latest computer tricks and trends that you see in the magazines, I highly recommend Digital & Hybrid Scrapbooking & Card-Making with Photoshop Elements by Patty Debowski . I received it in the mail last week, and I have spent countless hours devulging it. Let me just say WOW! This book is huge - 384 pages crammed full of useful information. Included in the book is easy to learn techniques, step by step instructions, shortcuts, and a DVD filled with digital goodies created by talented designers. Because I am a self-taught digital and Hybrid scrapper I had alot of questions about techniques and resolution that they don't cover in the magazines. This book answered my questions and covers it all. I can't imagine the time that was spent creating this book, she truly covered everything. I have a copy of it sitting on my desk right now to divert back to when I need a little help. This book is a must-have in my opinion. You can find the book here.

Scrapbook Dimensions Dream Team Toot!

The announcement has been made and I can finally spill about the amazing opportunity to design for Scrapbook Dimensions Magazine. I have been walking on air since I found out, but had to keep it bottled up till they made the official announcement. Calls orginally went out on the 24th of December, we were visiting our family in Las Vegas, NV for Christmas. I kept checking the website to see if they made an announcement. Since, I didn't get a call or an email, I figured I didn't get the position. Then when we returned home on the 28th, imagine my surprise when editor Cindy Wyckoff personally called me to tell me the good news! I was speechless for a moment, I think I uttered something about being on vacation, and I just kept saying that I couldn't believe that I was talking to her. Most of our conversation is a blur, good thing I got out a pen and paper and wrote the important stuff down!
I feel incredibly blessed to be given this awesome opportunity, what an amazing way to start the New Year! You can read the announcement here. While your there check out their special subscription offer!
