For those wanting to learn digital scrapbooking....

hybrid scrapbooking, hybrid card-making or the latest computer tricks and trends that you see in the magazines, I highly recommend Digital & Hybrid Scrapbooking & Card-Making with Photoshop Elements by Patty Debowski . I received it in the mail last week, and I have spent countless hours devulging it. Let me just say WOW! This book is huge - 384 pages crammed full of useful information. Included in the book is easy to learn techniques, step by step instructions, shortcuts, and a DVD filled with digital goodies created by talented designers. Because I am a self-taught digital and Hybrid scrapper I had alot of questions about techniques and resolution that they don't cover in the magazines. This book answered my questions and covers it all. I can't imagine the time that was spent creating this book, she truly covered everything. I have a copy of it sitting on my desk right now to divert back to when I need a little help. This book is a must-have in my opinion. You can find the book here.

Scrapbook Dimensions Dream Team Toot!

The announcement has been made and I can finally spill about the amazing opportunity to design for Scrapbook Dimensions Magazine. I have been walking on air since I found out, but had to keep it bottled up till they made the official announcement. Calls orginally went out on the 24th of December, we were visiting our family in Las Vegas, NV for Christmas. I kept checking the website to see if they made an announcement. Since, I didn't get a call or an email, I figured I didn't get the position. Then when we returned home on the 28th, imagine my surprise when editor Cindy Wyckoff personally called me to tell me the good news! I was speechless for a moment, I think I uttered something about being on vacation, and I just kept saying that I couldn't believe that I was talking to her. Most of our conversation is a blur, good thing I got out a pen and paper and wrote the important stuff down!
I feel incredibly blessed to be given this awesome opportunity, what an amazing way to start the New Year! You can read the announcement here. While your there check out their special subscription offer!

Having one amazing month...

I just found out that I am having a layout published in the January issue of The Artisan Notebook, Digital Scrapbooking Artists Guild. You have to be a member to view it, but I am getting a complimentary issue so I am so excited about that! I Just finished some layouts for kjoi studios. This month I had the chance to work with the very talented designer Dawn Inskip. Her kits are amazing! My only regret is that I've been so busy with Holiday stuff - I wish I could have done more. Here is her kit The Write Stuff I did two layouts with it. The first one "confessions" is a self layout and the second "sweet" is about my relationship with my two incredible sister-in-laws.
I am hosting a Hybrid challenge over at kjoistudios so if you have a minute, stop by and check it out. There are lots of great prizes that you actually get to choose from! How cool is that?!!

Had some time this weekend...

to get caught up on some cards. I love doing digital work, but It's been awhile since I have done anything hands on and I just had to have that paper feel! I guess you can say that I have turned into a Hybrid junkie because of my love for all things paper and digital! The first card (shining star) is a Hybrid card. I made it from JanaM's new kit, you can get it here

Favorite eye candy

My favorite eye candy at the moment hands down would have to be these adorable circle accents by Jenna Desai, you can find them at The-lilypad for just $1.60. What a steal! I know this is one digital purchase that I will use over and over again. Could they be any cuter??
